Pupil Leadership

Pupil Voice
Whitchurch Voice Council members are elected by their classmates and members of staff. The council consists of Rights Respecting School representatives, class representatives and Eco members. They meet regularly with Mrs Lee Smith and make sure the views of our pupils are considered. They contribute to fund raising events. They write an action plan for the academic year to help improve learning and our school environment.

House Captains
We have four House teams: Doward, Wye, Yat and Wye, symbolic of our local environment. Siblings join the same house team and House Captains are responsible for leading the collation of house points, presenting these weekly in Celebration Assembly. They also lead their House at various inter-house events.

Global GreenTeam
The Eco Ambassadors are chosen by staff. They make sure that everything in school is as eco friendly as possible! They meet regularly, they organise posters and assemblies to promote energy saving, recycling and litter picking. They run the school garden where produce is used in the school cookery club or sold within the local community. This is a self-funding scheme to facilitate the development of innovative eco projects, both within the school and the local authority. An additional role is to organise community textile recycling, coordinate regular on-site litter picks and innovate on things eco.

Junior Road Safety Officers

Our Junior Road Safety Officers do a wonderful job. They monitor the parking outside school and encourage and praise families for using our safe crossing point. Also, they oversee our Walk Once A Week programme. This involves collating data and giving out rewards to children in our Celebration Assembly.

Tuck Shop Monitors

These children are solely responsible for manging stock and the financial running of our school healthy tuck shop. They do this every day with a big smile. So far, profits are looking good.

Librarians
Our librarians are responsible for development of the school library. They support other children with their choices in reading books, organise the space and arrange the displays. They also promote new books/author choices and how children might enjoy them.

Rights Respecting Schools Team
The team promote the UN Rights of the Child. This year they are working towards achieving Level 1. They work within our Pupil Voice team.
